  To meet the mental health counseling needs of our students, MiraCosta College Student Health Services is bringing on an additional part-time Associate Faculty (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) in Spring 2023.  Essential duties are providing confidential, culturally relevant, and equity-oriented individual, relationship, and family counseling; facilitating support groups and workshops; supporting overall campus mental health needs including crisis intervention, drop-in support, and clinical back up of pre-licensed counselors; and serving as a liaison between Health Services and other campus departments/ programs. Minimum qualifications are a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field, as well as Licensure in California as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist. Maria Elena is a blogger at Homegirlz del Corazon and works as an outreach worker for the Mobile Crisis Response Team. Many thanks to Breaking Down Barriers, a community service of Jewish Family Services, and the County of San Diego Live Well for providing this excellent speaker! This presentation is intended for adults and contains adult language as well as serious topics including assault, abuse, and addiction, as well as hope and recovery.
